Almost hidden from the rest of the town, the station - part of the Trenino Verde circuit - is immersed in the silence of nature. An excellent place for a quiet break.

A town of less than 600 souls on Mount Genna de Crobu, on the slopes of Gennargentu. Immersed in nature, it is part of the Trenino Verde circuit.

Beautiful roads and landscapes, not at all busy when passing through. All in all, the climb is not very demanding.

A local legend tells of a craftsman from Belvì who had the idea of creating metal birdhouses, scattering them throughout the woods. Here he was the victim of a prank by "Maschinganna", a demon of the Sardinian folk tradition who enjoyed playing pranks on those who passed by, who caused the houses to rust and ruined, making them inhospitable to birds. Maschinganna then confronted the artist, recommending him to build the houses with chestnut wood, more suitable for the needs of the birds. However, the rusty and ruined houses remain on display in Belvì, together with other iron works in the streets of the town that resemble various animals.

This small town is located right at the foot of the majestic Gennargentu, at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. It's interesting to know that the country's economy once revolved around the snow trade!

"Fonni, with its sliver houses and its stone paths, defies the winds and lightning". This is how Grazia Deledda described this small village which, located at 1,000 meters above sea level, is the highest in Sardinia.
