オルヴィエートの眺め

Located near the village of Spina, the Rocca di Sant'Apollinare is a place rich in history and timeless images. Once a defensive fortress, it became a place of worship and production, and today it is immersed in a centuries-old olive grove. Getting there requires a bit of effort, but the reward is guaranteed.

Montegabbione is a characteristic Umbrian village. Its origins date back to around the 11th century. Over time, it belonged to various powerful local families until it became part of the Papal States.

Calling it a trail is an understatement: it's a path you can just make out at the edge of the field. It ends near a ruined farmhouse, then there's a small underpass and you're back on the main road.

It's marked as passable on the map, but it's blocked off

When you leave the provincial road of Spina, after a short stretch of easy dirt road you come across the intersection for the Nestore ring. You can also do it on Gravel, but I recommend MTB, in some sections the terrain is a bit "technical". The section inside the woods is beautiful

In the wake of the old Ellera Pietrafitta railway, many dirt paths connect the hamlets and villages of the countryside. This point is right near Castiglione della Valle, near the sports facility

There is a fountain for refueling, very useful in the summer.
