Like a bicycle street at home

At this panoramic point, on the slopes of Mount Arista and not far from the mouth of the Pelau River, you can observe a splendid stretch of the coast of eastern Sardinia. The beach in front of you, moreover, is a great place for a swim.

Unsuitable for cycle touring or gravel, especially if you have a lot of stony and sandy sections, I would say as a MTB you can definitely take a bath in complete peace 😆

Better surface (2024) and significantly fewer cars

Bari Sardo, like some other Sardinian places, has a lot of street art to offer. It's worth looking for the works of art on the walls of the house!

This beach is amazing. The sand is fine, but as you get closer to the sea, it turns into small pebbles. The water is crystalline blue. The beach is a little less crowded than others in the area, so it's a good option to take a break before continuing your trek.

The Tower of San Giovanni is a magnificent Saracen tower overlooking the sea. The tower itself is similar to many others in Sardinia. It's a great vantage point for taking pictures. If you look carefully to the right, you can see the Tower of Santa Lucia in the distance, while on the left it is easy to spot the Tower of the Castello della Fava di Posada. In the past, these towers were used to spot enemy ships, especially pirates, and raise the alarm. Some of these towers are on top of the cliffs and it takes a bit of walking to get there, but this one is very easy to reach.
