A beautiful renovation in a peaceful place

At the top of Mount Barro (581 m) there is an ancient medieval village, born around the church of Santa Maria Annunziata. Probably built on the ruins of a castle, this church preserves an apse with a stone dated 1484. The houses, made of local stone and close to each other, were once home to farmers who cultivated fields and vineyards. The last inhabitant left the village in 1977, marking the end of its rural life. Today, every 1st May, Mount Barro comes alive with the traditional Fiora festival. This popular event, inspired by the ancient gesture of lovers exchanging bouquets of flowers, celebrates the community's first spring outing, transforming the village into a place of celebration and memories.

You can definitely take a nice break here while hiking. Everything is there: a grill station and covered seating.

The must have of Volpi d'Invorio. Nice and fast trail always in perfect condition.

The entrance flanks the Nebbiuno wash house where you can fill your water bottles as the climb to Sass del Pizz will be short but very intense :-D
