The Monte Moro Pass is located on the border between Switzerland and Italy, connecting the Saas Valley in Valais to the Anzasca Valley in Piedmont. The unique feature of this pass is that it is accessible via a medieval mule track. The route and photos are available at: https://treksrandos.fr/alpes/valais/alpes-pennines/col-de-monte-moro/

The Reina Margherita Refuge (Italian: Capanna Regina Margherita) is a manned mountain refuge located in the Alps, on the border between Switzerland and Italy. It is located on the summit of the Signalkuppe, one of the highest peaks of the Monte Rosa massif. Its altitude is 4,549 metres, making it the highest refuge in Europe. It was opened on 18 August 1893 by Queen Margherita and is owned by the Italian Alpine Club. A room with a capacity of nineteen people is open all year round, and between June and mid-September the entire refuge is open, increasing its capacity to seventy. This refuge is widely used by mountaineers who climb and traverse the peaks of the Monte Rosa massif.

The Regina Margherita refuge is located on the summit of Punta Gnifetti, the highest peak in Valsesia, built in 1893 and renovated in 1980. It is the highest refuge in Europe and is also an important physical-meteorological observatory for the Piedmont Region, as well as a laboratory affiliated with the University of Turin. It has been home to laboratories for medical and scientific research for years, being one of the highest equipped laboratories in the world.

The Alpe Baranca refuge is located in the green Baranca valley at 1600 m. Its position makes it an excellent stopping and overnight point on the GTA path and on the "Via Alpina" itinerary. For overnight stays it is always better to call 3478659385 or send an email for reservations. From the refuge you can also enjoy a beautiful panorama and you can observe roe deer, marmots and chamois.

7月 16, 2023, Colle d'Egua
Colle d'Egua, at 2,239 meters above sea level, is a connection between Fobello and Carcoforo, known for the magnificent panorama it offers on Monte Rosa, which here exhibits all its peaks exceeding 4,000 metres. In this area there is also a bivouac that bears the same name as the hill. The surrounding trails vary between easy and technical sections, but most of them are suitable for running. The shortest route to reach this splendid panorama is from Carcoforo, but it is also possible to take a longer itinerary starting from Ceppo Morelli.

The Monte Moro pass, located at 2,868 meters above sea level on the border between Italy and Switzerland, is characterized by the presence of the Madonnina placed on a rock spur, which represents the symbol of the pass. From here you have a wonderful view, with Italy on one side and the Saas Valley, Switzerland, on the other. You can admire the imposing east face of Monte Rosa. I advise you to arrive early, as after midday the clouds tend to lift from Italy. The terrain on both sides is not particularly technical, except for the summit itself, where there are chains to aid passage.
