The Infernot are small underground architectural structures, dug by hand into the Pietra da Cantoni, a particular geological formation typical of the Lower Monferrato area.

In Rosignano about seventy infernots are preserved, special underground cellars dug into the canton stone for the conservation of wine. Each infernot has a unique structure and decorations that make it peculiar, so much so that it has become part of the Unesco World Heritage Site.
