To discover its origins, we must step back in time to the Middle Ages, a period when Alice Bel Colle was a possession of the Counts of Acquesana, later passing under the rule of the Gonzaga family of Mantua, and finally to the House of Savoy. The smallness that distinguishes Alice Bel Colle, however, does not detract from its beauty and uniqueness. Indeed, despite being a small village of 700 inhabitants, it holds a veritable treasure trove of history, culture, and traditions. A beautiful place. One of those "of the heart" for me. The viewpoint of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II on the Val Tiglione and the surrounding towns clearly visible on clear days. There is a charging station for e-bikes and wooden tables with benches on site, perfect for taking a break. Magnificent!

This swing is an excellent alternative to the usual giant benches. From this point you can also take beautiful photos thanks to the view... especially with the clouds.

Since the 16th century, Nice has been referred to as Nicea Palearum or of the Straw, thanks to the roofs of the houses that were built with woven straw and grasses. These materials were present in the marshy soils of the place of origin, located at the confluence of the Nizza and Belbo streams. Today, in the Piedmontese dialect, it is still popularly called Nissa dla Paja. In some old houses it is still possible to find false ceilings made following that method.

One of my several "places of the heart" that is the green area on the edge of the SP3 and which overlooks the church of Santa Maria. Many times I have stopped for a break.

The town and the beautiful church of Santa Maria seen from the SP3. Passing through here is always nice and the provincial road, despite being a road in theory with traffic, is not here. You therefore enjoy a relatively safe road to pedal without too many risks.
