Splendid and monumental sanctuary, the destination of numerous pilgrimages and of the Camino di Oropa. It is a place from which you can take numerous walks or bike rides, whether gravel or MTB

The Bottalino fountain marks the entrance to the city of Biella, famous for its textile industry. It is a very popular and well-known fountain in Biella, donated in 1873 by the Lamarmora family. An obligatory pit stop, even to fill the water bottles!

Marian sanctuary built according to tradition in the 4th century, Oropa contains an important statue of the Black Madonna and in 1957 Pope Pius XII elevated it to a minor basilica. The climb that leads to the sanctuary was made famous by Marco Pantani's feat, perhaps the most memorable of all: in the 1999 Giro he won here with an epic comeback.
