Canelli is a Piedmontese municipality of 10,000 inhabitants. This town is famous for being the so-called capital of Asti sparkling wine. Canelli is part of the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato wine-growing landscape: this territory has been part of the UNESCO heritage since 2014.

Castle of medieval origins, first built in 1142. Destroyed in 1154, it was subsequently rebuilt in its current position. It was then destroyed again by the Savoyards in 1635 and finally rebuilt at the end of the 17th century. It has been municipally owned since 1987.

Canelli is a town in the province of Asti. The locality is famous for its wine production, in particular for the renowned sweet sparkling wine called Moscato d'Asti. A further distinctive feature consists of the underground cellars, created by carving the tuff rock, which serve for the purpose of preserving and aging the precious nectar. The historical and cultural heritage of Canelli is of considerable importance, with numerous churches, castles and museums that masterfully illustrate the legacy of this territory.
