Barumini is much more than Su Nuraxi, and is worth a visit!

Almost hidden from the rest of the town, the station - part of the Trenino Verde circuit - is immersed in the silence of nature. An excellent place for a quiet break.

The landscapes that can be seen from the top overlooking the lake are breathtaking

Beautiful roads and landscapes, not at all busy when passing through. All in all, the climb is not very demanding.

A local legend tells of a craftsman from Belvì who had the idea of creating metal birdhouses, scattering them throughout the woods. Here he was the victim of a prank by "Maschinganna", a demon of the Sardinian folk tradition who enjoyed playing pranks on those who passed by, who caused the houses to rust and ruined, making them inhospitable to birds. Maschinganna then confronted the artist, recommending him to build the houses with chestnut wood, more suitable for the needs of the birds. However, the rusty and ruined houses remain on display in Belvì, together with other iron works in the streets of the town that resemble various animals.

Name communicated to me by the locals, but I have not found confirmation of it. The spring is abundant and freezing even in summer.
