The climb from Höll/Aspang is highly recommended. The gradient is moderate for the first 25 km, and only in the last few kilometers after Trattenbach does it become steeper.

The parish church of Schottwien is dedicated to St. Giles and, with its tower, dominates the center of Schottwien. Gothic origins and Baroque elements tell of its long history. An atmospheric place in the heart of the Semmering region.

The view of Schottwien and the impressive Semmering Railway with its viaducts vividly illustrates the interplay of nature and technology. This historic railway line is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and shapes the landscape of the Semmering region. It's a panorama that harmoniously unites the valley, the village, and the railway.

The Schwarza Viaduct is an imposing structure and a great photo opportunity along the route. Its high arches are particularly impressive when you walk underneath or alongside it. A short stop is worthwhile to take in its dimensions and its location above the Schwarza River.

From Kreuzberg you have a sweeping view of Breitenstein and the Adlitzgräben – a true panorama of the region's hilly landscape. The many terraces and ravines, clearly visible here, are particularly beautiful. An ideal spot for a short break and a photo.
