Immediately after the cycle path that connects San Martino with Filorera, a beautiful and ancient bridge.

The Masino torrent is the true protagonist of the Masino valley, not only because it runs through it along its entire length, but also because it is rich in thermal waters, which flow from a spring at 1,170 meters above sea level. It is not uncommon to see people soaking in the numerous pools that form along the stream.

The refuge is located in the Sasso Bisolo Valley, in one of the most beautiful areas of Val Masino. Here you are surrounded by large forests of fir and larch trees, undergrowth rich in strawberries, blueberries and wild raspberries and by large meadows.

The Qualido lake is a small body of water located in the Val di Mello, a nature reserve in the Val Masino. It was formed in 2009 due to a landslide that blocked the Mello stream, and is surrounded by mountains and woods that are reflected on its surface creating a suggestive atmosphere.

Bagni di Masino is a place full of fir and beech forests. The water that flows from the thermal spring, reachable via the staircase behind the ancient spa building, has a temperature of around 38°C and has beneficial properties for health.

San Martino is a fraction of the municipality of Val Masino. It is the gateway to Val di Mello, famous for its suggestive mountain landscape, with streams, waterfalls, lakes and granite walls, and can be used as a base and starting point for various excursions on foot or by bicycle.

Absolute recommendation! Very nice ascent through a natural paradise with waterfalls, dreamy forest and arrival at an abandoned old thermal bath. There is no food at the top. If you want to make a coffee stop, you should do it down in San Martino.
