From Campodimele it's about ten kilometers of pedaled and shaded climb

The climb up the Passo San Nicola from the northern side is much easier than from the south. Steepest section is around 6%, but most of the climb is in the 3-4% region. At the top you do not have wide view, however if you decent towards the southern side you get a lot of views of the valley towards Itri.

The site of Casale di Madonna del Piano, in the municipality of Castro dei Volsci, is located about 1 km away on the right bank of the Sacco river. Here, since 1984, a program of investigations has been carried out jointly by the Municipality and the Archaeological Superintendency for Lazio aimed at recovering the archaeological structures of a settlement with several phases from the late Republican age (1st century BC) to Early Middle Ages (VII-VIII century AD).

The Sanctuary of Maria Santissima del Colle, better known as the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Colle, rises 490 meters high in Lenola, on the side of a hill overlooking the Piana di Fondi. Surrounded by centuries-old trees, it is immersed in the heart of the Aurunci Mountains Natural Park, guarding the valleys of the River Liri to the north and Lake Fondi to the south. The origins of the Madonna del Colle Sanctuary date back to many centuries ago, when Christianity was in its earliest stages. According to various historical documents, the area on which the current sanctuary stands was a place of worship since the middle of the second century. The place was sanctified in the first centuries of the Christian era, by the blood of martyrs, victims of the persecution of the emperor Decius and has been consecrated since 8 November 1610. During the visit to the Madonna del Colle Sanctuary, the beautiful facade of the church by the Milanese artist Raffaello Franco is certainly of interest. Inaugurated in 1628, it is built entirely of brick and features carved flames on the cornice. These symbolize the great faith of all those who participated in the construction of the sanctuary. Also on the cornice of the facade, moreover, we can see some branches of cypress and myrtle nailed in the same spot since 1628. Their function was to embellish during the celebrations for the inauguration of the sanctuary but, despite more than 3 centuries have passed, even if they have no roots and are exposed to bad weather, they still appear in an excellent state of conservation.

Monte Solo (511 m a.s.l.) is a hill of the Ausoni Mountains in the Lazio Anti-Apennines. On the top of the mountain there are two iron statues, 14 meters high, depicting the patron saints of the village Sant'Elena and San Sinforo martyr. The two statues were placed there on the occasion of the jubilee year.
