The panorama. The sometimes relaxed paths. The alpine pastures. The food. – There are countless reasons to drive or walk up here.

It's just one of the highlights when walking around the Puflatsch, but it's highly recommended.

The Alpe di Siusi is really beautiful and spacious. At its two foothills you can take a gondola even further up the mountains, or you can walk the arduous climb and either hike in the direction of the Sciliar or on the Puflatsch.

The cable car is an adventure, but those who are here should rather go on one of the many hikes. When the weather is nice and on weekends, parking tends to get tight around midday. The journey by car can also be "exciting" due to the heavy traffic (cars, motorbikes, buses, bikers) on the pass road.

The basket ride up to the Demez hut is unique because you jump into the moving basket and then stand up and jump out again. We have christened the thing "moving cigarette pack". It was definitely worth it for us because of the great circumnavigation of the Sassolungo afterwards.

Located directly on the pass road that leads from the Sella Joch to the Pordoi Joch, among other things, is the Hotel Passo Sella Dolomiti Mountain Resort with a breathtaking gondola in which two people standing one behind the other take you to the Rifugio T. Demetz at 2685m.

The Sassolungo with its 3181 m high summit was first climbed in 1869 by Paul Grohmann. Together with the Sassopiatto, the Sassolungo is a popular hiking destination in the summer months. Sassolungo and Sassopiatto can be walked around in about 5.5 hours and offers beautiful panoramic views of the mighty Sella massif, the Marmolada and the Alpe di Siusi.

The mountain group of the Sassolungo between the Val Gardena and the Alpe di Siusi area is arranged in a mountain range that opens up in a northwesterly direction and has a kind of "courtyard". It was formed about 230 million years ago. The "stone town" in the direction of the Sella Pass, which is characterized by its rich flora and fauna, is known here. The massif consists of the following mountains, named clockwise: Langkofel (3,181 m above sea level), Langkofeleck (southeast peak of the Langkofel), Fünffingerspitze (2,996 m above sea level), Grohmannspitze (3,126 m above sea level), Innerkoflerturm (3,081 m above sea level), Zahnkofel and Plattkofel (2,969 m above sea level). The Langkofel and Plattkofel are particularly suitable for via ferrata and mountain tours and can also be circled. The highest point is the Langkofel, from which it takes its name, at 3,181 m. It is recommended to cross from the Sellajochhaus. Then it goes over the Langkofelscharte, Langkofelhütte, Murmeltier Hütte and the Jendertal to St. Christina in Val Gardena. Despite the small difference in altitude, this hike is challenging but worth it!

7月 15, 2021, Lago di Carezza (Karersee)
From the SS241 that connects Nova Levante to Vigo di Fassa you can reach the Karersee - Lago di Carezza Visitor Center. Large paid parking (1 € / h). From the parking lot, follow the signs for the lake and take the pedestrian underpass, the setting up of which aims to recall the history and mythology of the Latemar forest and to present the particularities of the wood obtained from it. Once at the viewing platform you can admire one of the most beautiful lakes in the Dolomites, surrounded by splendid fir woods (or what remains of it after the passage of the Vaia storm). Its crystalline waters reflect the Latemar massif, the solitary mountain, which finds its peak in the 2,846 m of Cimon del Latemar. Lake Carezza, fed by underground springs, develops a width of about 300 m and a maximum depth of 22 m which varies according to the season and weather conditions. The best months to visit it are May, June and July, when it reaches its maximum expansion. In the other months it usually decreases significantly.
