The Certosa di Serra San Bruno is a Carthusian monastery dating back to the 12th century, and represents an important historical and religious heritage. This majestic monastic complex offers a deep immersion in the spirituality and tranquility of monastic life.

The Certosa di Santo Stefano, the first Carthusian monastery in Italy, is a place of great spirituality that is strongly recommended to visit. Despite the destruction caused by the earthquake of 1783, the immense Certosa founded by S. Bruno da Colonia remains one of the most important religious centers in Italy. In the part open to the public, it houses an interesting museum which tells the story and evolution of the monastery, as well as the daily life of the Carthusians. The silver fir park that surrounds the structure is truly splendid and can be particularly enjoyed on the path that goes towards the nearby Marian Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Bosco.

Serra San Bruno is a very lively, interesting and pleasant town. The historic center offers many monuments, churches and prestigious palaces, as well as artisan shops and excellent cafés and pastry shops.
