Beautiful tour, even in the rain.

Spadafora Castle, or Samonà Castle, is an imposing fortification built in the late 16th century around a medieval tower. It served as a noble residence, but also as a base for coastal control. Today, it belongs to the Sicilian Region and is open to visitors.

Ancient fountain once used by washerwomen to clean their laundry. It has been renovated in a perhaps a little too modern way.

It features buildings of the Military Engineers, a picnic area and rock caves. There is also a structure managed by the Forestry Corps. Bathrooms and beds are indicated but everything was closed, you definitely need to contact in advance.

It appears abandoned, but offers shelter in case you need a quick change of clothes.
