Mythical tunnel or gallery that is crossed on the southern slope (Ponte di Legno) 3 km from the top of the port. It is a very long and dark gallery, with a slope of 9%. When you enter, you don't see the end of the tunnel. As you advance, a point of light opens. It is a unique sensation. The alternative to the tunnel is the old road, which is now unpaved, and which runs along a precipice and a ravine that are a bit scary if you have vertigo like me.

The tunnel is not illuminated. You really need a good front light otherwise you will wander around. You see very little. Also need a rear light of course.

A few steps from Piazza Righi we find a visual work by the well-known sculptor friar Frà Silvio Bottes. Inaugurated in 1974, the monument looks like a high granite rock on which a bronze sculpture is affixed, depicting an alpine guide climbing on a roped team and pays him a well-deserved tribute.

Via the Campiglio state road 239 you go up to the Campo Carlo Magno Pass, an Alpine pass in Trentino that connects the Val di Sole with the Val Rendena, between the Brenta Dolomites and the Presanella Group. Legend (without great historical foundations) has it that the toponymy may derive from the passage of Charlemagne during his descent towards Rome in the year 800.
