Chroniclers report that there was a lively Catholic life in Zörbig even before the Reformation. In 1911, a chapel was built and in 1953 the church was enlarged with the construction of a bell tower of St. Anthony's Church. Lifelike, wood-carved works of art, St. Anthony, Mary with the baby Jesus and the crucifixion group can be seen in the church. In 2000, a large community room and youth room were added. Extensive renovation and remodeling work was carried out up until 2002. New colors and shapes gave the church more brightness, openness, clarity and peace: A searching person should recognize in the church that God is not only a God of the past, but also of the present. So we experience the church in bright yellow and white, in which the central elements in the altar area (altar, ambo, tabernacle) stand out in blue. Three symbols were symbolically combined in the altarpiece: the seven-branched candlestick, the tree of life and the cross.
