The Catholic parish church of St. Kilian is one of the oldest churches in the Prince-Bishopric of Paderborn. With its imposing, five-story fortified tower (dating from the 12th century), it was once the religious center of a large region. Like no other building, it shapes the village's character and is well-known to many. Centrally located on a raised point in the valley is the cruciform, three-aisled basilica, which dates back to the 12th/13th century. This ancient church houses remarkable art treasures from various centuries: a Romanesque baptismal font (circa 1170), a Gothic folding altarpiece, a Renaissance epitaph of the Knights of Brenken (16th century), two oil paintings, two cast-iron gravestones, a ceiling painting, and much more.

A very beautiful church in the middle of Rietberg's center. It's worth a visit. In the evening, the beer garden of a neighboring restaurant opens on the church square. It's hard to imagine a more idyllic place to eat.

Paderborn is a very beautiful city, there is a lot to discover here. 2 large churches, lots of half-timbered houses and of course the Pader springs.
