Historian Tarcisio Venuti dates its construction to around the 14th-15th century, although the first documentary mention of it dates back to 1533. The building underwent a radical transformation after the earthquakes of 1511 and 1513, inspired by the Slovenian style of the Škofija Loka school, like many other small churches in the area, but with a style unparalleled for the beauty of the statuettes, placed in the keystones and lateral lunettes, with figurative corbels supported by elegant columns. It was further restored in the 18th century; in 1777, Francesco Colussi created the altarpiece with the Nativity in the center and Saints Peter and Paul on the sides. The 17th-century wooden altar has an altarpiece depicting the Virgin Enthroned with Child; At the base, in an oval, is the Adoration of the Magi, painted by Girolamo Ridolfi da Cividale in 1585. The bay between Monfalcone and Trieste and the nature reserve as far as Grado can be seen very clearly. To the north there is also a panoramic view of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

This useful fountain is located at the northern entrance to the Plessiva forest, at the entrance to the car park and near the information board. Unfortunately I didn't find a bin, other than the one for canine biological waste, but it doesn't matter when the main objective is to restore one's water supplies 😉

Vineyards and wineries. The route has some challenging stretches (25% gradient) intense but short, which makes the climb and the view of the panorama even more satisfying.
