In the heart of old Pescara, Gabriele D’Annunzio was born here, in the family home, on March 12, 1863 and spent the first years of his roaring life. Only the five internal rooms maintain the appearance of the original home. The stables and warehouses have been transformed into exhibition spaces. In addition to the collections of memorabilia, you can visit the Library, while in the courtyard, the ceramic portrait of the poet, by Basilio Cascella, is displayed. To introduce the D’Annunzio events, there is a video story with excerpts from the poet’s works dedicated to the family and the house where he was born. The landscape is spectacular, it almost completely runs along the sea and the overflows follow one after the other... some sections need to be finished, it's a shame that they are not signposted with an alternative route

Pescara is a lively city year-round thanks to its mild climate and numerous organized events. The old town is home to many bars and restaurants. Some of the buildings are modern, having been rebuilt following the bombings of World War II, when Pescara was attacked. Beyond the old town, you can cycle or walk across the Ponte del Mare, inaugurated in 2009, for a spectacular view of the Pescara port.
