🍁 Lago Federa: An Autumn Treasure 📸 Lago Federa, surrounded by the warm colors of autumn, is a wonder for the eyes and the soul. Among the Dolomites, this magical place offers unforgettable emotions and views. A journey worth every step!

Lago d’Ajal is one of the best-known Ampezzo lakes, especially for its easy accessibility. A small jewel surrounded by fir and larches immersed in a natural paradise at an altitude of 1,425 meters. Its name comes from the word "aiàl," which means "clearing used for charcoal", a term widely used in Venetian toponymy. In context, it refers to the entire wooded area to the south of the lake, where in the past the "aiàde" (plural of "aiàl") were built. On its shores stands the refuge of the same name, reopened in July 2021 after a radical renovation carried out by the Regole d’Ampezzo. Open both in summer and winter, it has a sunny terrace that allows you to enjoy traditional dishes directly on the shores of the lake, as well as 2 suites for an unforgettable awakening.

Lake Ajal is a jewel set in a natural paradise. The refuge of the same name is reflected in its waters. The spacious terrace allows you to taste traditional dishes directly on the shore, around the wonders of the Ampezzo Dolomites. Access is possible via a dirt road, and there is also a small path that allows you to go around the lake completely. All these paths are easily accessible even for those who love running.

Federa Lake, cradled in the heart of the Dolomites along the Alta Via n.1, is a shimmering gem that enchants hikers with its alpine beauty. Nestled amid towering peaks and rugged cliffs, the lake reflects the grandeur of the surrounding landscape. As you approach Federa Lake on the Alta Via n.1, the panorama unfolds, revealing the turquoise waters mirroring the rocky spires above. The air is crisp, carrying the scent of mountain flora, and the stillness is interrupted only by the occasional rustle of wildlife.
