Nice, well-attended refuge

Rifugio Brentari, named after Ottone Brentari, has a history tied to the Società Alpinisti Tridentini (SAT) and its evolution over time. Construction began in the early twentieth century, and it was the first refuge in the Lagorai mountain range, Cima d'Asta, and suffered significant damage during both world wars.

The Rifugio Cima d'Asta Ottone Brentari, at 2,473 m, is located in the Lagorai group. Open seasonally from June to September, it offers beds (also in the winter room) and is managed by the SAT. Typical cuisine and breathtaking views. For information: www.rifugio-cimadasta.it.

One of the most popular starting points for undertaking magnificent excursions towards Cima d'Asta. Great food and friendly, helpful staff.

Just below the Cinque Croci pass, the Malga Conseria refuge is a crossroads for many excursions as well as a perfect shelter in which to taste delicious typical Trentino products. Among them, dumplings, polenta and goulash should be mentioned. It is open in both summer and winter and you can also stay overnight by booking in advance.

Managed by the same family for numerous generations, the Crucolo refuge stands at around 1,100 meters above sea level at the foot of Lagorai. Particularly worth trying here is Parampampoli, a liqueur that Giordano Purin invented in the 1950s by mixing together coffee, wine, grappa and sugar. However, you can also buy and taste cured meats and cheeses.

From this refuge and its surroundings you can admire beautiful views. It can be used as a starting point for many excursions (I recommend including a visit to Lago delle Prese which is only 20 minutes from the refuge). The road to get to the refuge, with a perfect asphalt surface, is a little narrow, but almost always enough for two cars to pass, slow down and be careful. It's worth walking because the nature in these parts is wonderful.
