From the eastern side (from Agazzano) it is a long but rideable climb, the side from Travo is harder.

Beautiful tour, panorama and places are worth it

The pass, at 747 m above sea level, connects Val Trebbia with Val Luretta. You can get there from Travo, passing near Pietra Perduca and Pietra Parcellara, from Mezzano Scotti still in Val Trebbia or from Nibbiano in Val Tidone. All beautiful climbs, regular, with splendid panoramic views. You'll be spoiled for choice.

Bearing in mind the historical period to which the image refers, it shows us how advanced the battle techniques of the Carthaginians were. They used the Elephants as real tanks ante litteram, on which operated a specialized crew. Alongside the Elephants, almost certainly, the infantry advanced (even if it is not seen here)

Castle with harmonious lines, less imposing and strong than others. Fitting very well into the landscape, it enjoys a fantastic view of the plain below
