Carpineti is a small town in the Reggio Emilia Apennines, linked to Canossian history. It is recognizable by the ruins of the Carpinete Castle overlooking the town. The village retains a secluded and tranquil layout and is a good starting point for exploring the surrounding hills, including secondary roads, woods, and typical Apennine agricultural landscapes.

Aperitif venue

Nice tree-lined avenue that leads from Gualtieri to the Lumira restaurant on the po.....coming from Gualtieri shortly after the start of the avenue on the right there is also a nice single track in the woods that leads to the crostolo embankment

Along the climb you can see the Belvedere and further up there is the Cavazzone vinegar factory/restaurant with a magnificent view...highly recommended!! I got married there!

Avenue that leads to Lido Po'A Guastalla

This splendid panoramic road allows you to climb the hills near Albinea. Crossing some characteristic villages and locations, you can admire typical landscapes of the Reggio Emilia Apennines. It is also the first climb of the Gran Fondo Matildica, an important event for those who cycle in the area.
