The highest point of Reichenau. If you haven't been there, you haven't been to the island. The atmosphere here during the grape harvest is very special.

The Hochwart (not the Hochwart!) is the highest elevation on the island of Reichenau in Lake Constance, offering magnificent views in all directions. Excellent wine is grown in the surrounding area.

The Minster of St. Mary and St. Mark is the Romanesque former monastery church of Reichenau Monastery and today's Catholic parish church[1] in the Mittelzell district on the island of Reichenau in Lake Constance (Untersee). This minster was the abbey church of the important Benedictine abbey (Latin: Monasterium Augiensis) and is the largest of the three Romanesque churches on the island. On the occasion of the monastery's 1,300th anniversary, Pope Francis elevated the minster to a minor basilica in April 2024.[2] Since 2000, the monastery island of Reichenau, including the minster, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site; in 2003, ten major works of the Reichenau manuscripts were added to the UNESCO Memory of the World Register as "culturally and historically unique documents that exemplify the collective memory of humanity."[3][4] To mark the 1,300th anniversary, the Great State Exhibition of Baden-Württemberg 2024, entitled World Heritage of the Middle Ages, showed manuscripts and other evidence from the island in the Archaeological State Museum of Baden-Württemberg in Konstanz on Lake Constance and on Reichenau itself from April to October 2024.[5][6] For the Reichenau Minster, a citizens' project group has created the "Reichenau Book of Solidarity 2024" as a continuation of the Reichenau Book of Brotherhood of 824.

A wide cycle path with good asphalt makes for a pleasant ride. The cycle path runs parallel to the railway line.

The castle ruins above Bodman are the Altbodman Castle Ruins, a high medieval spur castle on the Bodenwald ridge. It can be reached on foot from Bodman or via forest paths from the Bodenwald direction and offers a sweeping view of Lake Überlingen.

Good asphalt, some curves and a nice descent where you can get good speed

Liggeringen already had two churches in the Middle Ages. Alongside the former parish church of St. Verena in the upper village (now a church), the former church of the Lords of Liggeringen became the center of the village from the 17th century onward. The present church is characterized by the new building from 1905 (tower from 1895). Particularly impressive is its rich, partly neo-Romanesque interior, with restored paintings in the choir (Crucifixion) and on the choir arch (Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Lamb of God, Marriage of the Virgin Mary). The Gothic-Baroque choir of the previous building has been preserved as a side chapel. It contains the Baroque high altar from 1712 with the altarpiece of St. George slaying the dragon. The side altarpiece "The Annunciation" was created on the occasion of the founding of the Rosary Brotherhood in 1662. Particularly noteworthy: The unborn child is already visible beneath the heart of Mary, emphasizing Jesus' divine sonship. A high-quality processional cross with enamel work from the 14th century has also been preserved from the Gothic period.
