マイエッラ国立公園のオルフェント渓谷は、アブルッツォで最も壮観な渓谷の1つです。オルフェント川は、柳、シダ、コケに覆われた狭い渓谷を彫り込みました。この地域には、カラマニコ・テルメからアクセスできる公式トレイルのネットワークが通っています。ハイシーズン中は、あまり知られていない隣接する村、デコントラにも駐車でき、そこから谷の周回ルートを開始できます。

Decontraはペスカーラ県、カラマニコ・テルメの町にある集落で、2つの隠遁所（Eremo di Santo Spirito a MajellaとEremo di San Bartolomeo in Legio）を巡る環状ルートと、オルフェント渓谷の環状ルートの両方の出発点として最適です。2つのルートを合わせると約34kmになり、かなりの高低差（約1300m）があります。
