The Marruvium Amphitheater represents one of the most significant archaeological testimonies of Roman power in the Marsi territory. Built around the 2nd century AD, the structure still retains parts of its imposing opus reticulatum walls and the elliptical shape of the original arena. Although it was partially stripped of its materials for other constructions in the past, it remains a fundamental symbol of the ancient Marruvian capital, once capable of hosting thousands of spectators for gladiatorial games.

Artificial lake in the municipality of Villalago, the San Domenico basin has as its main tributary the Sagittario river, which is also the waterway that emerges from the dam. Not far from this point stands the hermitage of San Domenico.
