The castle was renovated in the 17th-18th century, and appears more like a fortified palace, it retains two large lateral watchtowers, and a monumental portal for access to the village; it is on two levels, the ground floor used for the furnaces and the upper one for the residence of the lord. In 1744 the king of Naples Charles III of Bourbon lived there.
