In winter, the lake partially freezes over, and the surrounding forests are covered in snow. It is a great base for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. The ski resort in Lorica is located nearby – the cable car leads overlooking the lake.

The lake is surrounded by dense pine and beech forests, and its shores are lined with walking and cycling trails. The area is ideal for bird watching, walking, yoga in the bosom of nature and relaxing without the crowds. Kayaks and SUP – you can rent equipment in Lorica or other places on the lake. Fishing – Lago Arvo is popular with anglers, especially those looking for trout and perch.

Lago Arvo is one of the most beautiful lakes in Calabria and a true pearl of the Sila National Park. Although it is an artificial reservoir, it fits harmoniously into the mountain landscape. It is fed by the Arvo River and smaller mountain streams.

The road to Pino Collito has little traffic, is very quiet and shady. There are some climbs for which you need to have a minimum of training, a very pleasant ride.

Very nice and little frequented trail. There are often stony stretches but all in the plain, except for the asphalt climb towards the provincial road.
