The Church of St. Peter and Andrew is a Roman Catholic church in Brilon, a town in the Sauerland region of Germany, and belongs to the Archdiocese of Paderborn. The main church of the parish, which was elevated to a provostry in 1925, is dedicated to the apostles Simon Peter and Andrew. Construction began shortly after Brilon's founding, between 1220 and 1250. The early Gothic hall church, with three bays, features a transept and a two-bay, straight-ended chancel, both of which date from the 14th century. The imposing early Gothic west tower was erected after the nave was completed. Due to the church's slightly elevated position, it is clearly visible from afar. The Catholic Church of St. Peter and Andrew is located slightly higher up on Propst-Meyer-Straße 4 and is clearly visible from afar. Seen from the market square, it forms an ensemble with the historic town hall and both are considered Brilon's landmarks. Construction of an early Gothic hall church began shortly after the town was founded between 1220 and 1250. The transept and the two-bay closed choir were built in the 15th century. Brilon's main church was elevated to a provost's office in 1925. The Apostle Andrew was taken over from the original parish of Velmede. The Apostle Simon Peter is the patron saint of the town of Brilon. The church was given its current shape and location in 1772 and between 1875 and 1880 it was extensively restored and redesigned in a neo-Gothic style according to the specifications of the diocesan master builder Güldenpfennig.
