The village, which was mainly inhabited by Turkish Cypriots, has been uninhabited since 1964 and today only ruins remain. Particularly impressive are the remains of the church of Agios Mamas, which was never completed.

The small church in front of the Stavrovouni Monastery. With very impressive frescoes and icons by the famous painter Fr. Kallinikos, a monk from Stavrovouni. Right next to the chapel you have a sensational view from the balustrade in the direction of Larnaca to the sea.

Monastery closed - only men would have access anyway. Cat invasion here too.

Good for DH practising.

Quiet town center with a bank and drinking water tap

Equally interesting for road bike and mtb riders. They can follow the access road to the top. Normally very little traffic. Midway into the climb is a view point that allows a great view of the monastery and over the south eastern part of the island.

After passing the quarry and the barracks, the path continues through the forest to the monastery. The higher you climb, the more beautiful the views become.
