That's what the church should be called. I've never seen a church with that name before.

Finally there is a bike path here.

On both sides the approach to the Mangfall Bridge is now nicely asphalted, which is good for the racing bike

The route between Oberhaching and Schäftlarn offers good asphalt and little traffic, which makes driving pleasant.

The Catholic church on the market square is certainly one of the most striking points in Holzkirchen. A church is said to have stood here as early as 1000 AD and possibly even a little earlier. The first surviving coat of arms of Holzkirchen (1550) also shows a church in Holz. Holzkirchen belonged to the parish of Hartpenning for pastoral care. After the fire of 1490, the church was rebuilt in 1493 with the support of the abbot of Tegernsee Monastery. At the beginning of the 18th century (1704 to 1711), the church, which had become dilapidated after several fires, had to be renovated. In the following years, there were always necessary repairs and changes, both inside and out. In 1838, an extension to the church required the construction of a new church tower, more or less as we know it today. However, the church tower did not reach its final height until 1857, after it had been raised by around six and a half metres. Holzkirchen had only become an independent parish two years earlier (1855). Several interior renovations (most recently from 1957) finally led to the current appearance of St. Laurentius. Whether all these changes to the church's interior were to the church's advantage is an open question. The church is named after Laurentius, the archdeacon of Rome during the time of Emperor Valerian. According to legend, Laurentius was supposed to hand over all of the local church's assets to the emperor. When Laurentius resisted, he was tortured and finally put to death on a grate over the fire (allegedly in the year 258). Laurentius is therefore typically depicted with the grate.
