The monastery was originally built as a castle in the 16th century and later converted into a monastery by Pauline monks. The Olimje Monastery, a former Renaissance castle, has stood since the 11th century. It belonged to the Counts of Pilstein. It changed hands several times throughout history. Vetrnik hill (708 m) is found in the east of Bohor. In good weather, the view extends to the Gorjanci with the Brežiška-Krsk field, and in the NW direction to part of the Celje basin, the slopes of the Kamnik-Savinjske Alps and to the north to Pohorje. Nice little castle that is fairly newly renovated. From the top you have a great view. Unfortunately, you can't seem to see the castle from the inside. From the small hiking car park you can either walk up to the castle about 700m or drive a separate way directly to the castle. There is a parking lot there.
