Clyne Valley Country Park is a 691-acre (280-hectare) area set around the Clyne River that runs into the sea at the Mumbles seafront between Lower Sketty and Blackpill. It is a marvellous green area that covers both sides of the valley in thick woodlands of oak, birch, and beech trees. There are signs of its intensive industrial history dotted within the park, but mainly it is now noted for its extensive network of walking, running, and cycling trails.

Good for novice cyclists

A nice gentle, flat cycle way which has some fantastic views of Swansea bay as well as the lighthouse and pier at the end of the run! Cafe on the pier as well as a couple along the cycle way will keep you refreshed.

Part of NCN 4, this lovely traffic-free cycle along Swansea Bay to Mumbles is known as the 'Mumbles Mile'. It's a fantastic open stretch with spectacular views of the sandy Swansea Bay. You'll end at Mumbles Pier where you can begin a scenic journey around the Gower Peninsula.

Great place to spend some quality time when it reopens

This pillbox is at the southwest end of a bridge that crosses the dismantled railway that has become Clyne Valley cycle path. The pillbox defends the bridge and the top of a set of steps that lead from bridge down into the railway cutting. You can get into it as well

The old London Midland Scottish railway from Swansea Victoria to Shrewsbury passed through the valley. Its trackbed now forms the park's main footpath and cycleway.
