Top bit technical, then gets faster and flowing. a great down hill

Tough long climb but great fun

Leading from Haldon down the hill towards Exeter to Kenn, this is a great linking cycleway that takes you down to the old main road (a fab twisting descent). As a climb from Kenn, it's a lovely quiet way to reach Haldon MTB trail centre without being too steep, making for a fab loop from the village which you can conclude with the St Andrew's Lane descent. Great views over Exeter from up here.

Teign Bean are a local independent mobile barista who serve great coffee in a few select Devon locations. Open every day through the summer but closed Mon and Tue in the winter.

The 18th century Mamhead or Haldon obelisk was built to help ships navigate the Exe estuary. It's no longer much use for that surrounded by trees but it's a nice focus for a walk in the quieter eastern edge of Haldon.

From Starcross up onto the Haldon Ridge, Mamhead is an Exeter local classic climb. It's fairly gentle to start with, before ramping up through the trees with a few steep corners. Buckle up, this is one of those climbs that seems to just go on, and on, and on...

This is a Devon MTB classic: a long bridleway descent (or climb) from the village of Kenn up to the Cafe side of Haldon Forest Park. It's really narrow with some small, rollable drops so best descended, but pretty fun as a technical climb if you fancy it! In the spring look out for the bluebells, and be warned that in the wet and winter it's more like a stream bed, you will get very wet and muddy!
