Prefer this to the road climb next to it as that gets a lot steeper once off road. This is just a long grind with a few pinchy bits. Can imagine it would be great fun going down, but it is singletrack so careful on the corners.

One of the largest mixed woodlands in southern Wiltshire, situated on a chalk ridge above the River Wylye. It is recognised for its nature conservation importance through designation as a County Wildlife Site. Among the species found here is the Purple Emperor butterfly.

Great views from here. Nice area to ride or walk. Nice pub in Great Wishford for a stop to have a drink etc and are happy to fill your water bottles.

Nice continuous section of off road, comprising single track, open gravel forest tracks, bit of tarmac and concrete. Busy with walkers and riders in the sunshine.
