Starting September 15, 2024, stamp station 36 of the "Wild Homeland" hiking trails will be located directly at the Solling Tower. The approximately 30-meter-high Solling Tower on the Strutberg near Uslar impresses with its solid construction of Solling sandstone. The imposing tower walls and the pulpit-like "balcony" are testaments to the architectural style of its time. The tower was built in 1935. Its beautiful location saved it from ruin, as on a clear day, one can see as far as the Harz Mountains. The Hellental valley, stretching from Mecklenbruch in the southwest to the village of Hellental in the northeast, features extensively used grassland in some areas, including remnants of montane mountain meadows, and is one of two representative areas for submontane matgrass meadows in the Weser-Leine Uplands. The near-natural meadow stream "Helle" is bordered by small wet meadows and some riparian woodland. A geological peculiarity is the disappearance of the stream. In some places, the water of the Helle vanishes into a ponor (swallow hole) only to reappear elsewhere.
