Between Sallmannshausen and Gerstungen, the Werra cycle path runs on a flat gravel track, mostly along the Werra.

A fairly straight forest path, but also an old trade route and thus one of the Rennsteig trails. Despite the wide path through which it runs, hiking on it is very beautiful, because you walk through the unbroken silence of the forest on the Böller. No disturbing noise comes from anywhere.

The Sallmanshäuser Rennsteig reminds me a bit of the Rennsteig: lots of slopes 😅

The route leads through beautiful countryside and has ideal terrain for gravel bikes, even with luggage. It is a great ride and can be recommended without reservation.
