The viewpoint has become so overgrown that the view is unfortunately no longer very pleasant. You can still see the town of Reichensachsen and the new motorway bridge, but that's about it. At least there's a nice rest area there, and the wonderful, rustic beech forests are especially worth a visit.

These huts are often found along the trail. Some communities make them even more cozy with flowers, tablecloths, and magazines.

Nice, small rest area with shelter

One of the new, modern rest areas adapted to the Werra. The rest area is covered and serves as a shelter in the rain or as sun protection on hot days.

The Lotzenkopf (466m above sea level) offers a viewpoint with a rest area at its highest point. The climb on the P3 from Oberdünzebach is quite a challenge and you can enjoy the effort with a rest here. It is particularly nice to experience the evening atmosphere here.

The steeper ascent path to the Lotzenkopf. If you like fast ascents, this is the place for you. If you like it more leisurely, turn 150m right on the P3 and hike moderately and easily to the summit of the Lotzenkopf.

Coming from the Blaue Kuppe, the last 50m on the hiking trail are too steep and you have to push yourself. The tree is no more.
