Little visited but worth it. Great views of Lake Mückensee.

From this spot, you get a great view of ancient lava columns standing vertically out of the clear blue water. This is a great place to snap a photo before continuing on your hike around this unique geological area.

Pack your "mosquito repellent" with you, it's teeming with cute little mosquitoes that would love to spite you ;-)

According to my information, one of the few original birch groves. You rarely come across such a lush green, even if there are one or two artificial spots.

Höfði is a rocky promontory which reaches into the waters of Lake Mývatn. The view from here is good, giving a vista of the lake's coves and inlets, besides being an excellent site for bird watching. Here you find the quiet place we called Black Beach at the lake of Myvatn.

Here, around Lake Myvatn, the film crew of Game of Thrones shoots every year in November the scenes that take place behind the wall. Especially when snow lies a beautiful landscape with recognition effect. In the summer, but also very nice.
