The route is simply gorgeous, the lake is quiet and has a decent view of the mountains. The kiosk owner was very unfriendly and didn't know how to smile. The food isn't exactly cheap. The signs with the slogans are pretty rude.

The Schlössle is actually a villa that was built around 1910 by Richard Riemerschmid (1868–1957) in the Art Nouveau style. The villa has since become a bit neglected and is more or less in a deep sleep. The villa was once a district-owned leisure and recreation facility, but now has no residents due to monument protection regulations.

Beautiful paved connecting paths from the Hopfensee to the Schwaltenweiher without too steep gradients. Nice connection to Nesselwang, Rückholz and Lengenwang to the west and Hopferau, Füssen, Forggensee to the east.
