You can also take a break in front of an empty reservoir that has been cleared of undergrowth and vegetation. 😉

It's pretty overgrown now. When it's dry, you can easily cross the reservoir. But it's not officially allowed.

Not that everything was really better in the past, but given the emptiness of the dam, I'm tempted to comment: "There used to be more water"

Unfortunately the status is still unchanged - apparently the forest restaurant will no longer be opening...😥 - it's a shame about the beautiful location!

The photos that can still be seen of the Steinbach dam, which show a large, shimmering blue water surface, are older. After the heavy rain catastrophe of July 2021, due to the amount of water that caused the dam to temporarily break, the dam ran empty. As far as I know, it has not yet been decided whether the dam will ever be closed again and a lake will be dammed.
