Sailing with your own sailboat is permitted throughout Lake Diemelsee; no special permit is required. Sailboat rentals are not available. The Diemelsee Sport Sailing Club's club facilities consist of the club grounds with a clubhouse, two piers, and a slipway, and are located on the Uferrandweg path in Heringhausen.
