At 587 meters, the Valtenberg is the highest mountain in the Lusatian Mountains. The proud tower alone is worth a visit. An event operator was recruited for the restaurant in 2025 – who may also continue to run the mountain lodge as a tenant.

Wesenitz Spring and Valentin Adit Information The Wesenitz River originates at an elevation of 515 meters above sea level on the southeastern slope of the Valtenberg mountain, emerging from the entrance of a 60-meter-long mine adit known as the "Goldbergwerk" (Gold Mine). The Wesenitz was first documented in 1213. Valentin Adit at the Wesenitz spring on the southern slope of the Valtenberg mountain.

Spacious, well-maintained shelter in nature. Hohwald. Information at the shelter: The Querxe at Gußhübel. Approximately 80 meters downhill, on the left-hand side, is a spring hollow. The "Rote Floß" (Red Raft) spring originates here. Stone benches used to surround the spring, but these are now buried along with the spring itself.

The listed post mile column was erected in the 18th century on the orders of Elector Frederick Augustus I. It is a distance column decorated with a coat of arms.

At 527 metres, the Hoher Hahn is an ideal mountain bike destination for anyone who wants to try out challenging climbs and fast descents. From there, varied routes lead through the surrounding forests.

The Wesenitz starts out very small; only a trickle flows from its source on the hillside (actually the tunnel water of the Valentin Erbstollen).

Unfortunately the inn is closed. There are currently no opening hours (summer 2024).
