Fuschl Castle is picturesquely situated on the western shore of Lake Fuschl in the Salzkammergut region and was built around 1450 as a hunting lodge for the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg. The historic building has subsequently served various purposes, including as a backdrop for film productions, including the Sissi films. Today, the castle houses a luxurious hotel with its own spa and golf course.

This beautiful circular route around the beautiful lake was recommended to us by our hotel and it was worth it. Only hikers, no cyclists!

There are a few places to stop and one or the other lido. A detour to the Waldhofalm is recommended.
