Gaasterland is a wooded area where foxglove, wood anemone, collared anemone, and wild garlic bloom profusely in spring. A special sight is the sand martin, which breeds here in colonies in self-dug cavities in sandy banks.

Beautiful little sandy beach. Also great for dogs to play on in the off-season.

Oudegaasterbreken (Frisian and officially: Aldegeaster Breken) is a lake in the Frisian municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân. On the east side lies the village of Oudega. On the north side lies the Doris Mooltsje windmill and the Leeuwarden–Stavoren railway line. In the southwest lies the Vlakke Blokken. See beautiful nature.

Doris Mooltsje is a drainage mill near the village of Oudega, Friesland, The Netherlands. It is a hollow post windmill of the type called a spider head by the Dutch. The mill is listed as a National Monument with number 527647 and was put back into service in 1998. (Wikipedia)
