A beautiful 628-meter-long wooden bridge, completely renovated in 1992. Today, the two excursion boats M/S Gustaf Wasa and S/S Engelbrekt dock at the pier, as do the traditional church boats at Midsummer. The pier is also a popular tourist destination. Some weddings take place there. Source: https://www.schwedentipps.se/dalarna/raettvik-seebruecke-landungsbruecke/

Sollerön island, in Lake Siljan, is connected to Mora by this bridge, which and is like a gateway to Dalarna's heart. Expect scenic routes through farmland and forests. The crossing provides stunning lake views and it will let you explore the island's Viking history and traditional villages.

This "Långbrygga" (long bridge) is 628 m long. Only at the very end of the bridge is there a small artificial harbor where ships can dock. From 1895 onwards, the steamer S/S Rättvik moored here for almost sixty years (hence "Ångbåtsbryggan" = steamer bridge).

The S/S Laxen is a Swedish steamboat located at the Siljansfors Forest Museum in Mora. The ship Laxen was built in 1899 at Gefle Varv for Nedre Dalelfven Fleet Association. She was used to collecting wood (wood hunting) in Hedesundafjärden. For this purpose, she was equipped with a steam-powered capstan winch with around 2,000 meters of wire. The S/S Laxen had two sister ships the S/S Östa 1898 and S/S Bäsingen 1905.

The church is one of Sweden's largest rural churches and the oldest parts date from the 13th century. The church has existed in its current form since 1715.

The beautiful weather was nice to me today too. The Swedes say the Siljan is only to be seen as the water is cold even in summer. Some Swedes bathed anyway, and what the Vikings can do, the Teutons can do too. After the first cold shock and a short period of getting used to it, I swam extensively. The bike also came into its own, was checked, the chain was cleaned, oiled and re-tensioned. Then laundry was announced. In the evening I went to Leksand to shop for dinner. I was just about to be able to eat outside when a change in the weather brought rain. That doesn't suggest anything good for tomorrow.
