The Goldkanal is the largest quarry lake on the German side of the Rhine Valley. Once used to search for gold, but too little was found. The small island in the Gold Channel has belonged to France since the end of the Second World War. It is built with a bunker. The current owner used this as the foundation for his house.

the beach marked here is NOT public but private (club, Paddelclub Illingen). Entering is tolerated at most. If you want to sunbathe or swim here, you run the risk of being sent away.

Very suitable for a long break. The yacht club nearby has a terrace with a fantastic view and very good cake. For me, it's Italian flair! Otherwise, the water invites you to linger. Just ponder :)
