Newport enjoys a scenic setting on the shores of Clew Bay. Its pretty harbour and Main Street are a delight to explore. There are a good number of places to stay and it's worth checking out the award-winning Gráinne Uaile pub. The town is connected to Westport and Achill by the Great Western Greenway.

Looking east you get a great view of two of the peaks in the skyline around Louisburgh, Carrowmore Hill (171m) and the far more lofty Croagh Patrick at 764m with its cone shaped summit.

Tucked into the far end of Achill Island sits the paradise beach of Keem Bay that would not look out of place in the Caribbean. Sitting beneath the large green hills of Irelands west coastline, the beach is Blue Flag awarded meaning it ticks all the boxes for a high standard of cleanliness and quality. As a key film location for the Oscar winning The Banshees of Inisherin, this beach clearly stunned much of the Hollywood and the wider film audience on the big screen!
